We have many things to see and do despite our tiny size. It’ll be hard to choose between hiking and camping with the OFFICIAL State of Texas Bison Herd, at the Caprock Canyons State Park, shopping at our local gift shops, antique stores, and thrift stores, and learning about the history of the area at the Comanchero Canyons Museum or via the educational programs conducted by our wonderful friends at the State Park.
Caprock Public Library hosts programs for young children as well as book clubs for the more experienced readers.

Bison
Texas State Bison Herd
Caprock Canyons State Park is just a few miles up the road and offers scenic hikes and close encounters with the huge and hairy kind.
We’re not talking about Bigfoot, we’re talking about the Official State Bison herd that lives and roams free within the park.
You don’t have to go all the way to the Canadian border to experience these majestic animals, we have some RIGHT HERE in Texas.
Museums & History
The Comanchero Canyons Museum
The Comancheros were natives of northern and central New Mexico who conducted trade for a living with the nomadic plains tribes, often at designated areas in the Llano Estacado. They cut trails followed by traders and later ranchers and settlers.
They were so named because the Comanches, in whose territory they traded, were considered their best customers.
