Winter Weather 1-23-26

Winter Weather 1-23-26 – The storm has officially rolled in, and the snow/ice/sleet is coming down more and more as the night progresses. The temperature is dropping quickly and the roads have already begun to ice over at 7:00pm.

Weather Warning

Stay inside if you can, and try not to leave your house unless it’s an emergency. Please stay off the roads and help our emergency volunteers stay snuggly warm at home with their families.

If you have pets outside, PLEASE, get them into a warm shelter. The winds are deadly cold right now, and most animals left in the elements will not survive the night.

If you are on City water, we ask that you leave a faucet on a slow drip over the weekend. This is to help avoid a water main break due to the low temperatures and winter weather Friday through Monday.

Be sure to cover your outside faucets and winterize what you can to avoid any issues around the house.

WARMING SHELTERS

Due to predictions in the winter storm looming over head and the possibility of extended electricity loss here are a list of warm shelters in the event that you may need them:

If you become stranded or in need of assistance please call 911 or (806)-995-3555 for non-emergencies.

Everyone stay safe, and we will see you again when things thaw out!
